What does the gang do?
[edit] Removed unsourced material
- The murder of a highly respected Los Angeles police officer stopped the growth of the gang in the late 1970s
- and the gang's East Side (which is around 30 years older than their West Side), expanded south into the Newton District. There was also a South Side Clanton that claimed the Watts Towers area in the 1980s near the Watts/Willowbrook area.
- Agent John Hampton of the FBI's Gang Awareness Division of Los Angeles, California, has stated that older gangs, like Clanton, use the advancement of technolgy and have these web sites such that local law enforcement doesn't have to leave the office to patrol the streets to find out what is happening on the streets any more. Its all bragged about on guest book pages. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jlittlet (talk • contribs) 18:29, 17 September 2007 (UTC)

the info that was unsourced is pretty interesting, because i always wondered why clanton stopped growing and then a gang that was inferior back then like 18 took off, i heard a similar story about frogtown also in the 70s, which if you notice is really small too when they were arguably the biggest gang in the area before that, aves got stopped when they killed that little girl in the early 90s, i was just wondering why the east side is older than the west side, but that description of their south side explains alot, i used to email the guy from the c14 website but he never gave me a straight answer on that, about cops getting info on websites the sad part is that most law enforcement wouldnt be able to figure out whats going on even if its spelled out for them, if law enforcement really tried to learn the barrio culture i think not only they would solve alot more crimes but will do it more effectively, and not look like the bad guy all the time. i personally am for law enforcement but its hard to defend them sometimes, and i could see why some people dont like them, i mean non-gangbangers, of course that could also be because weve all gotten dumb tickets in the past, especially from the LAPD, in new york police are alot more realistic when it comes to traffic enforcement, either way good post on clanton, later —Preceding unsigned comment added by Formergangster (talk • contribs) 07:16, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
