Clayton Matthews (1918-2004), was a U.S. writer of erotic, romance and mystery novels, with more than 35 books. He often collaborated with his wife, writer Patricia Matthews.

Clayton Hartley Matthews was born in 1918. He started writing erotic novels in the 1960s. In 1972, he married with the also writer Patty Brisco, and they moved near San Diego, California. In the 1980s and 1990s, the marriage collaborated in some romance and mystery novels. Clayton died in 2004.
