Claudio Aguirre

Claudio Aguirre Pemán (born 1958 in Madrid, Spain). Holds a degree in Economics from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, an MBA from the Instituto de Empresa de Madrid, and an AMP from the Harvard Business School.

  • Mr. Aguirre Pemán is an independent member of the Board of Directors of Vocento, having been appointed to the Board in 2006.
  • He previously held a wide range of senior management positions with Chase Manhattan Bank, Goldman Sachs and Merrill Lynch, where he was Chairman for Spain and Portugal.
  • Head of the private wealth management division.
  • Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Merrill Lynch International Bank Ltd. (London).
  • Member of the Global Executive Committee of private wealth management (New York).
  • Member of the investment banking global executive committee (New York).
  • Head of the investment banking division for Europe.
  • Co-head of the global industries and communications division.
  • Member of the executive committee of Merrill Lynch for Europe and executive director of Merrill Lynch International.
  • He is currently chairman and founding member of Altamar Capital Privado, S.A.
  • Chairman of Marmara Capital.
  • Non-executive vice-chairman of Mercapital.
  • Member of the advisory board of Abante Asesores.
  • Director of USPE Hospitales.
