[edit] History
Clark Middle school was opened up in 1978-79 school year in which United Independent School was just a few years old. At the beginning, Clark Middle served 4-6 grades. Also at the time, the school colors were Orange and White and the mascot was a Short Horn in order to reflect the fact it was a feeder school for United High School at the time. Before the 1994-95 school year, the school got a much needed overhaul. The gym which had been separate from the school, was connected via a new hallway that was built which included among other things, a new cafeteria for the school. In addition, the library was moved to the former cafeteria location which is in front of the main office now. Additionally, new hallway full of classrooms was also built on the west side of the school. Also, the grade levels were change to 6-8 grades during this time in order to help out the district from the sky rocket growth that the district has being experiencing. Finally, both the mascot, and the school's colors were changed to show that Clark Middle now feeds it students into John B. Alexander High School.
The School is named after Norman Clark, who donated the land for the school to be built. Mr. Clark was an onion farmer who moved to Laredo from Connecticut in the 20th century

[edit] Standardized Dress
Starting in the 2006-2007 school year, students are required to follow standardized dress code provided by the district.
The Texas Education Agency specified that the parents and/or guardians of students zoned to a school with uniforms may apply for a waiver to opt out of the uniform policy so their children do not have to wear the uniform. Parents must specify "bona fide" reasons, such as religious reasons or philosophical objections.
[edit] Feeder Schools
Feeder elementary schools include:
- Clark Elementary School
- Cuellar Elementary School
- Amparo Gutierrez Elementary School
- Newman Elementary School
