Clarence Elmer Mitchell (February 22, 1891 in Franklin, Nebraska - November 6, 1963 in Grand Island, Nebraska), is a former professional baseball player who played pitcher in the Major Leagues from 1911-1932. He would play for the Detroit Tigers, Cincinnati Reds, New York Giants, Brooklyn Robins, Philadelphia Phillies, and St. Louis Cardinals. The left-handed pitcher has the distinction of throwing the last legal spitball as well as making five outs in two at-bats during the 1920 World Series.
