[edit] Station location
Claremont station is located in the middle of Claremont. The railway's right-of-way lies between two arterial roads: Shenton Road and Gugeri Street. There are two access points to the station on each of these streets, those on the western end of the station meet at an overpass which connects to a ramp down to the platform whilst those on the eastern side require crossing the tracks at grade level.[2] There are three schools nearby, Claremont Primary School, Christ Church Grammar School and Methodist Ladies' College. Scotch College is served by Swanbourne railway station, Perth.
[edit] Future
There are plans by the Public Transport Authority to upgrade the current station.[3] Upgrades to the station would include improved pedestrian, bicycle, and bus access to the station along with enhanced lighting and security.[3]
[edit] Platforms
All trains stop at Claremont station; these are all stations, A, B, K, L, and S-pattern trains. During off-peak hours, trains run every 15 minutes into Perth, whilst during peak hours trains to Perth operate every eight or nine minutes.[4] Claremont is also the point at which A and B trains switch from local to express running, with A trains running local towards Fremantle and B trains running local towards Perth.[4]
