When Clara meets the hoodo man up on Red Owl Mountain, she knows she should leave. Momma always warned Clara that the hoodoo man can put a fix on you. But before they go, Bessie accepts a charm to ward off snakes. The next day, she becomes dangerously ill. It is Clara's fault? Is it hoodoo? Or is it the hoodoo man who will save Bessie?
