Clan tag
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A clan tag is a common internet term use to denote the prefix or suffix that internet multiplayer gamers use to associate themselves with a computer or video game clan. Tags are often enclosed in brackets or symbols and colored differently if the game allows it. For example, in a name like "fnatic.f0rest", "fnatic" is the clan tag, and "f0rest" is the player's name. A large number of multiplayer games support the use of clan tags. For example, Age of Empires III features integrated clan support where a clan's tag will automatically appear before a player's username. Some other games that use such a feature are Command and Conquer, World of Warcraft, Counter-Strike, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and most teamplay FPS and RTS games.
