The call sign CKON is a reference to the Mohawk word "sekon" (or "she:kon"), which means "hello" in English. [1]

An awkward choice, phonetically would this not also be « c'est con » en français - which translates rather crudely to "that's stupid!" Could this be a possible reason why CRTC hasn't issued that callsign to some other Québec broadcaster? :) --66.102.80.212 (talk) 20:20, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
