I think listing this is important because in order to understand someone's perspective, it is necessary to know what and who they are. I am an American of mixed descent. My mother is half Mexican, half German (we think). She was brought up Lutheran and does not speak Spanish as a native, but she married a Jewish man, under whom I was raised for a time, and has since given up on organized religion after some experimentation. My father's family are French, English, and Irish in that order more or less. But we have always been very proud of our Irish descent more than the others. This part of my family is strongly Roman Catholic.

For my own part, the Hispanic and Gallo-Hiberno-Anglo have all mixed to make me look more or less Italian, according to what most people say about me.

I haved moved around all my life, including 2 years in Japan, as a Navy brat. Because of this and my ability to not speak a language with TOO much of an accent, I move around pretty well in different circles. I am willing to accept all cultures, creeds, etc as they are for what they are.
