| Parameter | Description |
|---|---|
| Name | The name of the release. Defaults to {{PAGENAME}}. Do not use italics or quotes (this is handled by the Type field) and only wikilink when necessary (i.e. not in the article about the release). |
| Type | Defaults to album, use with single to have single releases properly appear in quotes, instead of italics. |
| Artist | The artist or band name. Only wikilink when necessary (i.e. not in the article about the artist), [[Various artists]] may be used as well. |
| Title | The title of the notes, if different from the release name. |
| URL | The full URL (internet address) of the notes if they are available online. |
| Last First |
Last and first name of the author of the notes, if different from the artist name. |
| Pages | The relevant pages of the release notes. Please use the format p. 3 or pp. 2-6. |
| Format | The format of the notes and (booklet, book, inset, back cover, cover, liner, etc) and the release itself (CD, DVD, vinyl, digital download, etc). Examples: CD liner, Vinyl back cover. |
| Publisher | The record label. May be wikilinked if the record label has an article. |
| PID | The publisher's ID (catalog number) for the release that corresponds to the notes, requires Publisher field. |
| Location | The location of the publisher to the smallest geographical unit known (city, state, country). May be wikilinked, requires Publisher field. |
| MBID | The MusicBrainz ID for the release, the part after http://musicbrainz.org/release/ and before .html. |
