[edit] Title

This article should simply be named San Fernando, Pampanga, seeing that the articles on LA and San Francisco aren't similarly named City of Los Angeles, California and City and County of San Francisco, California. --Charlie P. 12:55, 14 May 2007 (UTC)

Well, we decided to name our city "City of San Fernando" so as not to confuse with San Fernando City of La Union province in the north. Thanks!

Isn't that the reason why we say "San Fernando, Pampanga", instead of simply "San Fernando", to distinguish it from San Fernando, La Union?
Think Las Vegas, Nevada and Las Vegas, New Mexico, and many other homonymous place names especially in the US and the Philippines. --Charlie P. 20:01, 17 May 2007 (UTC)
And City of San Fernando, Pampanga is already the official name of the city. San Fernando, Pampanga is the former name of the city but because of it's cityhood last 2001 i think, it was named as City of San Fernando, Pampanga. Actually, as to the name, it's basically City of San Fernando (P). San Fernando City is the other city which is located in La Union province in the north (region 1). That's why we can't only say San Fernando, Pampanga... It might be a bit confusing to the readers... anyway, hope it helps.
Almost all cities in the world are formally and officially named "City of ___" or "___ City". Following this logic, the articles on the Philippines and Italy should be titled Republic of the Philippines and Italian Republic. It's simply overkill. --Angelo 16:09, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
