[edit] Change name to "New Mets Ballpark"?
All Mets PR releases refer to the project as the "New Mets Ballpark" and I think that this corresponding article should have the same name.
- Huh?
-
- I agree. As seen HERE, the Mets are currently using the name "New Mets Ballpark" until the official name is decided. This article should be renamed "New Mets Ballpark", with "New Mets Stadium" redirecting to this page.--Letsgomets1212 19:26, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Comparison table
The comparison table is a nice addition, but the colors make it hard to read, I think. --Veronique 15:40, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
- I added the table. I thought the colors not only gave the table some Mets flare, but I also thought that the colors helped distinguish one ballparks facts from the other. I suppose it could be removed, but I kind of like the way it looks (that and the fact that it took me a half hour to figure out how to do it). Maybe we could get some other opinions on here?--Letsgomets1212 19:26, 24 June 2006 (UTC)

- It is very hard on my eyes. The table itself is a nice addition, but the colors either need to be changed or removed. There's a reason orange was only ever a secondary color on the Giants and Mets uniforms. —D-Rock 21:16, 24 June 2006 (UTC)

- Okay, I took care of it, everything is normal now. I'm glad you like the table! --Letsgomets1212 22:32, 24 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Ballpark Info Table
Could someone add one of those ballpark information tables? One of the ones that go on the side of the article and give basic facts about the stadium, like the one here. I'd do it myself, but I am Wiki-inept. Cowami, Worshipper of Qeueue 22:20, 24 July 2006 (UTC)
- Done. Add what information I missed. --Zimbabweed 03:07, 25 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Pictures
Should I add pictures of the stadium constuction? The constriction site is 100% visiable from the upper deck at shea.
- Not yet, all it is right now are some spikes in the ground, some piles of dirt, a crane, and a some tubes. Wait until you can actually see the stadium being built before you post pictures. I don't believe they have even officially broken ground yet.-Letsgomets1212 17:05, 30 August 2006 (UTC)
- Actually, since us Mets fans are more modest than those Yankee fans, I don't think we even get an official groundbreaking ceremony.Cowami, Worshipper of Qeueue 19:15, 1 September 2006 (UTC)
- Well, supposedly, the have not yet "officially" broken ground, even though they have started to do some work. I'm sure there will be a ceremony in the near future. Perhaps right after the Mets are knocked out of the playoffs (or after the World Series if they win it).-72.68.209.175 21:23, 9 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Official name
The Mets has confirmed the rumors that Citi Field will indeed be the new name for the stadium (http://www.the-dispatch.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20061111/APS/611112945&cachetime=5 AP link). --Zimbabweed 22:29, 11 November 2006 (UTC)
- I've been reading that there should be a space in the name, per the MLB and New York Mets websites. Although there are scattered references to the name with no space, the official releases as well as stadium concept drawings seem to imply "Citi Field". —Fumo7887 (talk • contribs) 17:47, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Ballpark Images
I added the "Ballpark Images" section to the page. Does everyone like this idea? I personally think it gives people a real good idea of what the park will look like.Letsgomets1212 19:36, 14 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Removal of comments
I thought that comments on the talk page are not supposed to be removed. As for other arenas in the New York City area, they could have been another section. Several other pages on stadiums, ballparks, and sport arenas have sections regarding to "related pages". Also, since the Citi Field and the New Yankees Stadium are going to be built in the same time frame, are in the same city and will open at the same time, it may prove interesting to be able to keep track of their progress in one place. user:mnw2000 01:15, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Removing reference to rumored All-Star Game
I'm deleting this section: Citi Field hosting All Star in 2013?? / According to ESPN.com, sources say the year Citi Field will host an All-Star Game will be in 2013. There's no direct citation, ESPN.com is far too large to roam around looking for it, and it's still just an unsourced rumor. The double question marks ought to give that away. If anybody can provide verifable information on awarding an All-Star Game to the Mets, then it should definitely be part of the article. Until then, it doesn't belong here.
