[edit] Overview
Cisco Security Manager is an enterprise-class network management application designed to help you configure security services on Cisco network devices. The product focuses on three specific security services: firewall, VPN, and IPS. Security Manager configures these services on Cisco routers, such as the integrated services routers; dedicated security appliances, such as the PIX, ASA, and IPS 4200 Series; and security services modules, such as the firewall services module (FWSM), that install in a Catalyst 6500 series switch. Security Manager allows you to efficiently manage small networks up to large networks consisting of thousands of devices by leveraging policy-based management techniques.
