Cinder Block, also known as Cinder Bischoff, is currently the singer for the hardcore punk rock band Retching Red but has many other credits to her name. Originally hailing from Lincoln Nebraska, Cinder got her BFA in acting and directing at the University of Nebraska and worked on many main stage and underground theatre productions including starring in The Hostage, Fool For Love and directing Rattlesnake In A Cooler. Cinder then moved to the S.F. bay area in the mid 80's and formed the punk band Tilt which went on to enjoy much success in the 90's. Tilt put out five full length albums, one on Berkeley's Lookout! Records and 4 on San Francisco's Fat Wreck Chords. They toured extensively including Warped Tour and two European jaunts. Cinder also co-founded the wildly successful Cinder Block Inc., a full service music merchandising and licensing company that started in a small warehouse in Oakland, CA in 1989 and has now ballooned into a 90,000 square foot space. Cinder enjoys creating large silk screened art pieces which utilize her lifelong interest in black and white photography combined with a bold sense of color, texture and fascination with the gritty side of life. Cinder is also a photo-contributor to Fat Mike's (of NOFX) magazine: Punk Rock Confidential.
