[edit] Not a founding member

For clarification: Birdsong was not a founding member of the Bluebelles. In fact, she was the last Bluebelle addition. The original lineup (as the Ordettes) was Patti LaBelle (as Patsy Holt), Yvonne Hogen, Jean Brown and Johnnie Dawson in 1961. Dawson was the first to leave, and was replaced with Sandra Tucker (daughter of Ira Tucker) of The Tonettes. Hogen and Brown left the group shortly after, and were replaced with Nona Hendryx and Sarah Dash, who were singing with the Del Capris. Then Sandra's family made her quit, and Tucker was then replaced with Birdsong - who was five years older than LaBelle and therefore could've never been a founding member - and those four signed with Bluebelle Recording Company in April of 1962. *whew!* LoomisSimmons 01:01, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
