Cinema Paithiyam is a 1976 Tamil language film starring Jayachitra and Kamal Haasan in the lead roles. It is a remake of the Hindi hit film Hrishikesh Mukherjee's Guddi (1971), which made Jaya Bhaduri a star.
It is a story about a girl Jayachitra who worships a film star, played by Jaishankar.
Actress Jayachitra later claimed in an interview that this film ran for 100 days at Devi-Sridevi Complex in Chennai, and that "this was the first Tamil black and white film that ran for so long in that theater complex."[1]
