[edit] Neutral Point-of-View Dispute
I think this page should be checked for neutrality- some parts of the article seem biased to me.
[edit] Response
- Thank you for your thoughts and neutrality warning, anonymous editor "24.50.211.226", and welcome to Wikipedia! It appears, based on your contributions history, that you are new to the Wikipedia, so let me take this opportunity to welcome you aboard.
- As is the case for most talk show hosts, (eg: Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and Michael Reagan), the opinions of the hosts are their own, biased or otherwise. I have made some adjustments to the article to clarify that what Cigar Dave says on his program represents his beliefs, and are not necessarily neutral in and of themselves. Some of the content is more "off beat" and "jovial" than "biased" - I hope you can appreciate the sense of humor as quoted from the Subject. The wiki-article itself should be neutral in it's presentation of those possibly biased or off-beat views, regardless of whether the mentioned views and statements themselves of the subject are "neutral". You do not have to agree with Cigar Dave's views for it to still be a "good" Wikipedia article.
- Please review the current changes at your earliest convenience, and decide if they meet your views on NPOV. If you are satisfied with the adjustments, then please delete the NPOV banner at your earliest convenience. If you are unable to do so in a prompt manner, or do not provide specific and legitimate examples of current NPOV violations, or leave good reason for continuing the claimed dispute, then I will delete the banner myself as an issue "resolved".
- Again, just because the host's views may be biased, does not suggest that it is unsuitable for mention in the Wikipedia. Nevertheless, please feel free to air your views, and make appropriate edits as you wish. Just please be careful and thoughtful about what may appear to some to be a "drive-by" NPOV banner posting - which can be considered to be a type of agenda-driven vandalism - which is itself inherently biased.
- Thanks again for your contributions. Please do not take any of my response as anything but constructive clarifications and some wiki-tutoring, and in no way intended to be threatening. You seem to have some experience with Wikipedia, so may I suggest you register yourself a log-in "screen name", so the rest of us can recognize your work in the future. --T-dot 16:40, 12 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Results
After completing the anonymously requested "check for neutrality", with some edits clarifying that the views described are Cigar Dave's and not universally accepted; and with no further details, evidence, or complaints from the anonymous drive-by NPOV editor: I deleted the NPOV dispute banner. --T-dot 10:58, 16 March 2006 (UTC)
