  • William Etty (architect) - bridge over Derwent at Stamford Bridge, 1727[2]
  • Thomas Page (architect) - engineer of Westminster Bridge, designer of the second attempt at Lendal Bridge in York (1865). Also Skeldergate Bridge in York, with son George Gordon Page[3]
  • William Dredge - designer of the first ill-fated Lendal Bridge which collapsed during construction killing six workers. (1861) The girders were dredged from the river and used to build Valley Bridge in Scarborough. (1865)[3]
