I have removed the POV check. It's probably due to the sentenses "among the most prestigeous academic institutions" and "the brightest and the finest high school students". But high student score (and highest in several faculties) needed for admission into the university justifies it. Lerdsuwa 10:34, 22 Jun 2005 (UTC)

The faculty=11 item in the graphic to top right of article head is clearly erroneous. What´s the problem here? --ChulaOne

No, idea what you mean. It's rather a mistake of your browser. --PBS27

[edit] Prince Songkhla an alumni?

I've been going through the Prince Father's biography and nowhere does it say he went to Chula. He seems to only have went to England, then Germany, then Massachusetts for his education before interning at a hospital in Chiang Mai. Perhaps someone could show me the light? Otherwise I recommend taking it down. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.121.241.210 (talk) 01:47, 9 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Motto

To Paul - It might be true that Chula has no really motto...Then it's just said to be MOST Official one - (May be like Stanford Mascot, unoficially.) If you want to see a reference, I've one here http://www.cu-academic.chula.ac.th/history.php .

It's been almost 2 decades since I was here. I've always taught that เกียรติภูมิจุฬาฯ คือเกียรติแห่งการรับใช้ประชาชน is motto คำขวัญ or wish ปณิธาน, and thought that it's really official one. (May be misunderstanding for MOST people here nowadays)

If you're sure that, it's really no motto. I would like to persuade you to remove one in th:จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย. BUT Discuss to CUs in there first !

BTW If you have a reference that CU has really no motto, it's good.--Gtdj 00:47, 17 January 2006 (UTC)

I'd like to confirm the motto ความรู้คู่คุณธรรม is the motto which the king gives Chula krub. ANyone in the class of cosmetic for daily life at Faculty of Medicine knows this well. (comm arts grad)

From what I've known, "ความรู้คู่คุณธรรม (Knowledge with Virtue)" is OFFICIAL motto for Chulalongkorn University DEMONSTRATION SCHOOL (CUD)(In fact, for Secondary school). And that motto hasn't been reported that it's quote from royal tutelage or Chulalongkorn's Motto for sure. I think some lecturers may be confused by thinking that it must be the same. I'm sure that the motto that has been most quoted is "เกียรติภูมิจุฬาฯ คือเกียรติแห่งการรับใช้ประชาขน" side by side "ฉันรักธรรมศาสตร์ เพราะธรรมศาสตร์สอนให้ฉันรักประชาชน" of Thammasat University. You might hear it in forthcoming CU-TU Traditional Football this SAT. --Gtdj 02:07, 20 January 2006 (UTC)
The inconsistency of information was why I removed it in the first place. However, I believe เกียรติภูมิจุฬาฯ... is not official as it does not appear in any of the University's official documents (web page, หนังสือพระเกี้ยว (the freshman guidebook), etc.) As for consistency with the Thai version, somehow I feel "คำขวัญ" does not confer the same sense of officialness that "motto" does, so it might be more appropriate there.Paul C 16:06, 19 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Logo phrakeal.png

Image:Logo phrakeal.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
