[edit] Is "Chuck Dukowski" a nod to Charles Bukowski?

An earlier version of this article said the pseudonym "Chuck Dukowski" was a nod to writer Charles Bukowski. That seems to be the most likely origin, however, somebody cut the reference in an earlier edit. I've been reluctant to put it back in, since I don't have any reference to this one way or the other. Anybody know the full story of how he chose the name and maybe can point to a reference? Peter G Werner 04:09, 3 March 2007 (UTC)

Chuck Dukowski is also one of the spoken word artists credited on the album "Neighborhood Rhythms, Patter Traffic" also published by Freeway Records, FRWY 213 1984. Charles Bukowski and Henry Rollins are also credited for his contribution to this collection as well.

Chuck Dukowski is the pseudonym of Gary McDaniel born Feb. 1, 1954, who was a founding member and original bass player for Black Flag. He quit as Black Flag's bassist to become the band's agent. He continued writing for the band and for himself after this change. He was also part of SST "supergroup" October Faction.

McDaniel's choice of the name "Chuck Dukowski" is believed to be homage to Charles Bukowski.
