Hello, and thank you for editing Wikipedia. Unfortunately, the article you created (Livett's Launches) doesn't appear to be notable and has been deleted. Wikipedia has standards for content, and we do not allow advertising.

If you are unsure about what Wikipedia articles should consist of, please review this guideline before you continue. I hope this won't discourage you from editing our encyclopedia, but rather that you will see this as evidence that we do our very best to make sure our information is verifiable, accurate, and useful to our readers. Hi Kafziel

Sorry - new to this. I am trying to create a lisitng as Livett's Launches are similar to 'Crown River Cruises' or 'Thames Executive Charters'. Shall i follow the format they have used? Chris Livett is one of the most repected people on the Thames. Please adivse if this is approprate I don't want to upset anyone... Thank you Chris

The first thing to do is to make sure the company meets our standards for notability.
If so, then yes - Crown River Cruises may be a good format to follow (though I don't know if they meet our notability guidelines, either). At any rate, it's important to leave out phrases like "excellence has always been the aim" or "proud to be a member", and there should be no statements of "we" or "our". Another thing to keep in mind: when you create an article on Wikipedia, anyone is free to edit it. That means that if there is negative press in the future (or in the past), it must be allowed in the article. So it's not necessarily a good thing to have a page here.
Finally, on a related note, you may want to consider our guidelines on conflict of interest. A good rule of thumb - if it's truly notable, someone else will write the article. It can be difficult to write a truly objective article from your position. If you feel you can, you're allowed to try, but keep in mind that other users may decide it violates our spam policy and nominate it for deletion.
I hope that helps. Good luck, and happy editing! Kafziel Complaint Department 10:25, 15 May 2008 (UTC)

Thank you for the advice - much appretiated. In light of your comments I think I will put up a very basic article listing what they own on the river and the boats they operate as that is factual and helpful. Do you think that would be more acceptable? Thank you Chris
