Talk:Christmas tree (oil well)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I suggest a name change for this topic. First off, "oil" is a politically incorrect term, "petroleum" would be a better choice. Second, this article applies to Petroleum and Natural Gas. Something like "Christmas tree (Petroleum and Natural Gas)" or Christmas tree (natural resource extraction) would less specific and still be proper description.

The present Christmas Tree description is not precise, as it doesn't say where in the drill line / production line the tree is fitted, especially versus BOP (blow-out preventer), LMRP (lower marine riser package, on top of BOP) and diverter.
