Summary: In this speech to the delegates of the First National Convention of the Reverend Charles E. Coughlin National Union for Social Justice, broadcast from Cleveland, Ohio over WABC radio on Aug. 15, 1936, the Rev. Gerald L.K. Smith praises Huey Long and commends his leadership. He condemns President Roosevelt and his New Deal programs, calling Roosevelt’s administration a communistic dictatorship which threatens the country. Also included is a summary of the proceedings of the convention by reporter Bob Trout.
