| Description |
English: Photograph shows Christy Mathewson, pitcher for the New York Giants baseball team. It is a portrait of Mathewson's head, facing front. The original is a gelatin silver photographic print. Handwritten on verso is "Mathewson of N.Y. Nat." Stamped on verso is "Copyright by Paul Thompson, 10 Spruce Street, New York." Photograph taken in the off-season for American Tobacco Co. trading cards. This image was cropped from the Library of Congress TIFF archive, and converted to JPEG.
