Chrysoine resorcinol (Resorcinol Yellow, C.I. 14270, Tropaeolin O) is a colourant which is used as a food additive. It has absorption maximum of 387 nm.
It is produced from plant alkanet (Alkanna tinctoria).
In Europe, it was assigned to the E number E103 until it was banned in 1984. In US, it was banned in 1988.
