Chrysaora fuscescens (sometimes referred to generally as a sea nettle) is a common variety of jellyfish, found in the Pacific Ocean from Alaska, California to Japan. Evidence supports an increasing population resulting from human influences to coastal regions. This increase has a negative impact on populations of larval fishes.[1]
Diameter of the body can be greater than 1 m (3 feet), with arms ranging from 3.6 to 4.6 m (12 to 15 feet) in length.[2]
