The Chronicle of Malaysia is the story of Malaysia from January 1957 to 31 August 2007. Published in conjunction with the 50th anniversary of Malaysian (then Malayan) Independence, this book provides an eyewitness account of major news events over the last 50 years. The Chronicle covers a series of events even as they unfolded - the raising of the Malayan flag, the Emergency, the formation of Malaysia, Confrontation, the 1969 riots, political upheavals, financial crisis, judicial landmarks, sporting moments, cultural delights, and quirky aspects of daily life.

The pages of the Chronicle are designed with a newspaper–like format to give insight into the Malaysia story. A timeline of international and regional events provides context for local news.

The Chronicle was launched on November 5, 2007 by Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.
