Dr. Christopher A. Snyder is Professor of European History and Director of the National Celtic Heritage Center at Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia. He is an expert in Roman and Medieval Britain and specifically King Arthur. He got his PhD in Medieval History in 1994 from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. He is the author of numerous books including The Britons in The Peoples of Europe series (2005), The World of King Arthur (2000) and An Age of Tyrants: Britain and the Britons, AD 400-600 (1998), and the upcoming two volume encyclopedia, Early Peoples of Britain and Ireland (October 2008). Snyder appeared on The History Channel for The Barbarians II: The Anglo-Saxons in 2006 and on History v. Hollywood: King Arthur in 2004. At Marymount he served as Chair of the Department of History & Politics from 1998-2007.
