Christopher J. Walsh (born July 19, 1968) is an award-winning American sportswriter and author of three books:
- Crimson Storm Surge: Alabama Football, Then and Now (2005);
- No Time Outs: What It's Really Like to Be a Sportswriter Today (2006);
- Where Football is King: A History of the SEC (2006).
All three books were published by Taylor Trade.
Walsh has won several awards including the First Amendment Award (Associated Press News Editors), New York Times Chairman's Award, as well as receiving two Pulitzer Prize nominations.
Born in Camden, he grew up in Minnesota and graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 1990. He's currently covering Alabama football and all of the related lawsuits (including United States vs. Logan Young; Mike Price vs. Time Inc.; Kenny Smith vs. NCAA, Phillip Fulmer and others; Ronnie Cottrell and Ivy Williams vs. NCAA and others) for the Tuscaloosa News. Previous beats include the Green Bay Packers, Arizona Diamondbacks and Tampa Bary Buccaneers.
His articles have appeared in such publications as The New York Times, USA Today, Philadelphia Inquirer and Newark Star-Ledger.
