Christo-Centric Principle

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Christo-Centric Principle is that:

"The mind of deity is eternally centered in Christ. All angelic thought and ministry are centered in Christ. All Satanic hatred and subtlety are centered at Christ. All human hopes are, and human occupations should be, centered in Christ. The whole material universe in creation is centered in Christ. The entire written word is centered in Christ."

Critics of this principle might be classified:

  • A priori denial - since scripture has only one meaning, there cannot be hidden meanings. For example, Article VII of the Chicago Statement:

WE AFFIRM that the meaning expressed in each biblical text is single, definite and fixed.

  • Agnostic - since I don't know how to discern 'legitimate' shadows from 'illegitimate' shadows, I will classify them all as allegory and dismiss them as eisogesis.
  • Authoritarian - only shadows mentioned in the New Testament are authorized. (Skofield).
