Lund left the station for 4 years in 1986 to raise her family and returned to the station in 1990, until she officially left the station in 1998. During her second tenure she anchored the 11:30am and 4pm newscasts. Throughout much of her career, she co-anchored with Jerry Dunphy. She is believed to be the inspiration for the character of Veronica Corningstone, played by Christina Applegate, in the film Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy.[1]
