[edit] Christie's Education History
Christie's Education is celebrating its 30th anniversary in the academic year 2008-2009. It was founded in 1978 to promote the study of all aspects of the visual arts through hands-on experience.
Originally based in South Kensington next to the Christie's salerooms as the Fine Arts Course, the London college was later accredited by the Royal Society of Arts (RSA). It currently occupies the 1960s Building Crafts College at 153 Great Titchfield Street, London, where it runs Master's programmes now accredited by the University of Glasgow, undergraduate degree and graduate diploma courses and continuing education classes.
In New York a graduate programme was established in 1993. It occupies premises opposite the New York Public Library at 11 West 42nd Street.
