Christen Party/Christian Party

The Christen Party/Christian Party (CP) is a Christian Protestant Conservative Party, in South Africa, formed in October 2005.The party membership is open to everyone who accepts Jesus Christ as Saviour.
The CP was formed after Louis J B Marneweck a Member of the Provincial legislature for the Freedom Front Plus, in Mpumalanga Province, broke away to form the CP.Louis J B Marneweck was also the provincial leader of the Freedom Front Plus in Mpumalanga and a member of the FF+ National Federal Council.
It is one of three parties represented in the Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature where it has one seat,the other parties are the ANC with 27 seats and the DA with 2 seats.The CP is the only Christian party represented in the Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature.The CP is the only opposition party whose representative is a chairperson of a committee.Louis J B Marneweck is the Chairperson of the Select Committee on Public Accounts.
