Christabel (film)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Christabel is a four-part British drama series made in 1988, starring Elizabeth Hurley in the title role (in one of her first starring performances).

It is about Christabel Bielenberg, an English woman married to a German lawyer during World War II. The screenplay was written by Dennis Potter, author of such highly regarded (and often controversial) TV dramas as Pennies from Heaven, The Singing Detective and Brimstone & Treacle, and was based upon the memoirs of Christabel Bielenberg. The series was directed by Adrian Shergold.
