Chris Roebuck BSc MBA FCIPD has held senior Human Resource roles in UBS, HSBC, KPMG and London Underground to deliver competitive advantage through their people.
He studied at University College London where he chaired the Students Union commercial enterprises committee and later the Union Council running the constitutional governance process.
Chris was commissioned into the Royal Engineers via the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst serving in both the reserve and regular Army. He was the Best Young Officer on his Course at the Royal School of Military Engineering and developed the modern pipe fascine now used by the Army in combat to quickly cross obstacles.
After the army Chris delivered HR and culture change activities in organisations such as Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs, Bank of New York, Bank of England, UK Arts Council, Legal firms, UK Government and other financial institutions. In 1999 he was a member of an expert panel on improving Leadership in British Business for the Government.
Chris has written books on Leadership, Communication and Delegation. His book on “hands on” leadership was translated into 11 languages. His work has been in The Times, Law Society Gazettes in UK and Australia, People Management, Personnel Today, Management Today, Executive Grapevine, BBC Radio and Television. Chris research on organisational communication was published worldwide in the International Journal of Strategic Management.
At UBS Chris led the delivery of an integrated Group talent strategy for the top 600 leaders in UBS and co-ordinated this via the business divisions for the other 70,000 employees.
To help develop leadership in business Chris chairs conferences, has lectured at Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and Cass Business School, presented to the Institute of Directors CEO Summit, Confederation of British Industry Employment Group and All Party Parliamentary Committee on Management amongst others. Chris has also been an executive coach and mentor.
