Chris McCormack (guitarist)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Chris McCormack is a U.K guitarist born in South Shields in 1973, he is the younger brother of Danny McCormack from The Wildhearts.
The ex- 'Gunslinger' guitarists first success was as a member of Newcastle-upon-Tyne heavy metal outfit Forgodsake, who released an album on 'Bleeding heart records' before McCormack eventually left.
He moved to London where he formed 3 Colours Red with ex- Diamond Head bassist Pete Vuckovic, ex- skyclad drummer Keith Baxter and ex- senseless things guitarist Ben Harding and recorded 2 U.K top 40 albums and 6 U.K top 40 singles before splitting at their peak in 1999 due to differences of opinion in the bands business affairs.
He soon joined electro rockers 'Grand Theft Audio' with Rich Battersby from The Wildhearts, they released an album and he spent several months touring the U.S before eventually being dropped by the record label.
3 Colours Red reformed in 2002 and released a 3rd album but split again in 2005.
McCormack is now a music promoter and lives in London, he also tours as the guitarist in Gary Numan's live band.
