Chris Begg

Chris Begg (born September 12, 1979 in Uxbridge, Ontario) is a Canadian baseball pitcher.

A graduate of Niagara University, Begg was signed up as an undrafted free agent by the San Francisco Giants in 2003. He was part of Team Canada in the 2004 Summer Olympics who finished in fourth place. Begg was also named the 2003 MAAC Pitcher of the Year. Chris pitched for Canada in the World Baseball Classic. Begg was recently promoted to the AAA affiliate of the Giants, the Fresno Grizzlies. In his first start he pitched six innings, giving up one run, en route to the win.

Begg's first baseball coach was Brian Dyke in Uxbridge, Ontario, Canada. As cited in "The Northern Game - Baseball the Canadian Way" by Bob Elliot (2005), Chris worked with Jim Dixon of Achievement Strategiesin Markham, Ontario, Canada on mental toughness training.
