[edit] Test Match Special

I think the TMS information, though interesting in its own right, is probably of no relevance to the vast majority of people seeking a definition of "Chocolate Cake". -- mgoodhew ~20-Sep-2006

This is an encyclopedia, not a dictionary. It's not a place that just defines a word. The role of chocolate cake in society is very much an appropriate subject for the chocolate cake article to tackle. And I'm glad to see some of the food articles becoming more than recipe springboards. Having said that - I don't thnk this particular section is the best. It's too much detail and too little context, overwhelms the article, is not the most prominent example, and doesn't quote its sources. Maybe someone should work on it some time..... --Siobhan Hansa 15:32, 24 September 2006 (UTC)
I agree so I decided to be bold and deleted it. It just didn't flow properly with the article. It's a random bit of information and came out of nowhere. It didn't particularly contribute to the understanding of chocolate cake. If anything, it confused you about why it was there at all. -- Gogo Dodo 04:54, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
All i can say is "I want a damned piece of cake!!" after looking at that pic, im wishing a delicious chocolate cake lol
Not having seen it, but in principle I'd support this kind of thing - Wikipedia is not a dictionary, nor is it a recipe book, but stuff like the place of chocolate cake in culture very much is the sort of thing that should be in here, even if it's not your culture. Although the role of cake in TMS probably deserves an article of its own..... FlagSteward 20:01, 1 October 2007 (UTC)
