Text from parallel article incorrectly titled "Chalky", now changed to Redirect page:

A book written by John Wyndham. It is along the same lines as the story The Shining by Stephen King in that it is about a boy, who has an imaginary friend. This imaginary friend however is not evil, but an alien who has traveled with just his mind (via astral traveling) into the boys head. The story is about the boys family, and the boy trying to cope with 'CHALKY' the alien.

[edit] First Publication?

Chocky appeared in serial form in the mid-1960s, in a British girls' comic - possibly June and School Friend - which must be unique for a science-fiction novel. Does anyone know if this was its first publication? Robina Fox (talk) 18:28, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
