Cho Tsunatatsu
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Cho Tsunatatsu (1540-1577) was a retainer beneath the clan of Hatakeyama and eldest son to Cho Tsugutsura throughout the latter Sengoku Period of Feudal Japan. Even though being a vassal to Hatakeyama Yoshitaka, it is recorded that Tsunatatsu became directly involved with a plot that called for the latter's overthrownment, which served as an opportunity for the Cho clan and their mutual conspirators to obtain power over the province of Noto. As this plan went into effective success in 1574, Tsunatatsu then followed by murdering Yoshitaka following his usurpation by 1576 with the assistance of his comrades, but was forced to contend against Uesugi Kenshin, who would invade their province a year into the future. To Tsunatatsu's ill-fortune, Kenshin proved too powerful a contender, which subsequently resulted in the capture of Anamizu castle and his forced suicide.
