- The acronym CHMC is also sometimes erroneously used in the media as a reference to the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation, or CMHC.
CHMC is a Canadian radio station, broadcasting at 99.3 FM in Edmonton, Alberta. The station, which uses the brand name Magic 99, broadcasts a mix of vocal and smooth jazz, blues and soft rock. This station is owned by Rawlco Communications and was launched in September 2005 for testing, but it officially debuted December 8, 2005 at 2pm local time.
The first song played was Michael Bublé's "Sway". The morning show consists of Canadian broadcast legend Rob Christie, co-host Duncan Paterson and news anchor/G.M./P.D. Kurt Leavins. The drive announcer is long-time morning man Jerry Steen, and Allison Bailer does afternoon news. Seanna Collins, Mike Sobel, Brandon Reid, Shannon Tyler and Al Stafford round out the on-air crew.
The station's current slogan is "Refined Radio."
