"Chisakatana were not really all that common, since a katana was made for a tall person or a wakizashi for a short person." This is the only place I have heard or read such an assertion. Katana and wakizashi are in most cases made in different ways, for different uses. It is not merely a matter of length. Even culturally they are different--a katana would be removed when entering a building, while the wakizashi was permitted. There are marked differences. Scnt2labor 01:47, 15 May 2007 (UTC)
