Talk:Chipperfield's Circus
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I intend to make the following alterations to this page:
Mary Chipperfield Promotions and Amazing Animals are two completely separate companies- it was originally erroneously reported that Mary Chipperfield ran this company. No company has traded under the Clubb Chipperfield Ltd. title since 1998 - the entry suggested that this company was still active. The Chipperfield Circus title was only used by Dick Chipperfield and Dick Chipperfield Jnr. until the late 1980s. After this time the title was hired out to Tony Hopkins Promotions from 1992 to 1996.
Details also added on Jamie Clubb and Sheila Chipperfield with an external link to Jamie Clubb's website.
References include the Chipperfield family and David Jamieson's illustrated history of "Chipperfield's Circus" (published by Aardvark Publishing) among other sources.
The original definition of the Chipperfield's family was not accurate. Chipperfield's Circus has ceased touring as an entity since the mid '90s, as described at the bottom of the page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Byshee (talk • contribs) 11:36, 22 October 2007 (UTC)
I have done further work to clean up this page, however, we still need more internal links and list of sources. John Turner's books are mainly cited (Victorian Arena). I believe David Jamieson's book is also a main source for this page. A few days back I also re-directed "Chipperfields" to this page. There should be a Chipperfield disambiguation page too. - Byshee —Preceding unsigned comment added by Byshee (talk • contribs) 09:36, 29 October 2007 (UTC)
