[edit] Frankie Kknuckles

Is it fair to say Chip E took Frankie Knuckles under his wing? Frankie Knuckles was an estblished DJ when Chip E was still just working at the Importes Etc. record store. I'd say more likely, Frankie gave Chip (an up and coming producer) a break by letting him co-produce something.

DJ and Music Producer are not synonymous, and were more distinguished from each other prior to House Music. Chip E had been producing music from 1984, and was established as a recording artist, producer and mixer. Chip E produced Frankie Knuckles' first song in 1987, whereas in this scenario Chip E is clearly senior in experience. 67.162.49.89 (talk) 03:22, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
