Hope this family information may help a Battles of Ackia scholar: I descend Mobile aide Maj. Pierre Gabriel de Juzan who was killed in one of the Battles of Ackia; his kinsman killed in the other Battle of Ackia were Capt. Antoine de Tontey and aide Maj. Charles Pierre de Liette. Juzan's mother was Mdm. Michelle de Liette de Juzan "of the King's cabins", Versailles, France; wife of Pierre de Juzan, intendent of the estates of the Count of Porchartrain. All three, I think, were considered for the Order of St. Louise, but did not receive it? The elder Juzan's brother Jacques de Juzan (name means village on a hill side?), was a marine supply officer, and brother Jacques de Juzan, Ponchartain's courier to the King. Capt. Antoine de Tontey's brothers were Baron Alphonse de Tontey, and Henri de Tontey (their mother a de Liette). Maj. Juzan's son "Don Pedro", Sieur Francoise Pierre Gabriel de Juzan (DAR ally Patriot?, ran Spanish service agents amongst the Indians against British agents amongst the Indians) was His Spanish Majesty's Indian Commissioner to Alabama.
