The station does not have an -FM suffix, according to the FCC, so WBEZ-FM should redirect here (it does now) [1] —User:Mulad (talk) 19:26, May 14, 2005 (UTC)

Since this page is about a radio station and not a callsign, shouldn't it in fact be at "Chicago Public Radio", and have a separate paragraph introducing the various callsigns? Do the continuity announcers and presenters describe it as "Chicago Public Radio", "WBEZ", "WBEZ, Chicago Public Radio"... ? Either way, I'm uncomfortable with the wording "WBEZ is the callsign of a radio station" rather than "WBEZ is a radio station" - Wikipedia articles are primarily about things, etymology of the names comes second. "Chicago Public Radio" is correct. To answer Joe D's question further, the continuity announcers always identify the station's three broadcast frequencies and corresponding call signs.

"Its morning magazine program 848 was perplexingly named after the postal address of the station, 848 East Grand Avenue, although the program originally aired at 9:30. Despite being a 90 minute show, this enterprise also long and weirdly insisted upon the conceit that it had a "second hour."

I rewrote the "originally aired at 9:30" part, and removed the 90 minute / second hour part. [2] If it's important enough, and can be written in an NPOV manner, feel free to reinstate a rewritten sentence about the "second hour". --Interiot 14:02, 14 April 2006 (UTC)
