Image:Chirac au Quebec.jpg

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Humorous cartoon from the French newspaper Le Canard Enchaîné (August 6, 2003), featuring Jacques Chirac and his wife discussing Quebec French profanity. The title reads: On holiday in Quebec. Chirac's wife Bernadette says: Jacques, why are you always saying "calice" and "tabernacle"? The couple were indeed on holiday in the Quebec countryside at the time, the joke is that in Classic French these two words are used to describe things you find in the church, but in quebec they are used as a curse, and Chirac seems to be cursing his luck after passing by the two beauties in the background.
