Chiselhampton

Chiselhampton is a small village in Oxfordshire, England. It is located close to the River Thame, about four miles south east of Oxford.
During the First English Civil War on June 18, 1643, Chiselhampton was the location of the death of war hero John Hampden, after he was mortally wounded in the Battle of Chalgrove Field.
The village sits in the parish of Stadhampton. Other local settlements include Marsh Baldon, Chalgrove, Berinsfield and Newington.
