The following is a list of the senior heads of the McGhie name (in its variant forms) since the Middle Ages. The McGhie name is the lowland branch of Clan Mackay.

William M'Ghie was a merchant in Edinburgh and sold the estates of Balmaghie in 1786 to Thomas Gordon. The line after this point is not certain:

  • Andrew M'Kie (1858-1884)
